Oceano vocalist Adam Warren has fired back over an accusation of stealing a designers idea for the admat for their farewell tour that was unveiled earlier this week. Yesterday, February 20th, artist Chris Gallien called out the deathcore band for what he noted were similarities to his scrapped design for an admat he worked on for that trek. Gallien decried the final design used, claiming that it was a thinly altered version of his own work.
Gallien had apparently voiced his displeasure with Warren, as seen in the below screencap, which was one of several shared:
Ultimately, as showcased in one of the screencapped text conversations shared, Warren raised his concerns of not being happy with the art Gallien provided, stating his disapproval of design was his “artistic honesty.” He went on to state that he did however offer him compensation for it after the controversy, adding:
“I have sent you 100 dollars that’s 50 less than I paid for all the finals and social media edits and changes for the one in use. Typically do not do that. But given we will be working together further I hope this shows my intentions are not to hurt feelings but to utilize the best visuals for my vision bar none”
Gallien went on to thank him for that in that screencapped conversation, and suggested that they “have a meeting soon.” Warren replied to that with:
“I do think that’s beyond generous too given the difference in what I got, But if it’s a meeting for anything regarding this I am moving forward with work. Otherwise I’ll be in touch.”
However, while the pair remained civil in the text conversations, the comments section of Gallien‘s original post, found Warren hitting back with several replies, some of which included:
“#1 who sat with you and helped you the ideas and direction for this flyer on discord.”
“Next let’s run receipts since you’re gonna be this unprofessional”
“What you did was alongside My Ideas and you’re not telling the whole story so you can “get back at me” and you’re pandering to your audience without telling the full story. Which is disappointing”
